A must-see video of Dick Cheney talking sense:

How quickly we forget . . .

So, he knew what would happen. I guess that makes him a prophet who could not resist a profit.

Hell, *I* knew what would happen. So did my friends. It wasn't hard to see coming.

Cheney is the lowest of the low.

One of the things that really gets me about Cheney and Bush is their lack of patriotism. They are so willing to sell the country out for their own financial gain, and drape themselves in American flags while doing it.

True, but the American people *let them*. That, to my mind, is the genuinely ominous development. There will always be jerk politicians who want power for all the wrong reasons. It's our job -- as "patriots" -- to make sure they don't get it.

Bush and company have set a standard for corruption that approaches the science fictional.

Not to burst your bubble Mac but the "American People" did not "let him" do anything of the sort. There is strong evidence that both terms were illegitimate. I don't even think that sits within the realm of conspiracy anymore really. It all boiled down to who was best at bullying the courts and who could manipulate Diebold (or rather who really owns Diebold).

The thing which is in desperate need of fixing in the US is a voting paper trail and standardized voting in every state. Until that happens, no election can be viewed as truly accurate.

The title of that clip says it all "Grand theft Country America". On so many levels, truer words were not said.

I know. And what I said still stands: we let them get away with it -- in part for fear of being labeled conspiracy theorists, or terrorist sympathizers, or whatever.

Ultimately we are responsible for the actions of our government, as the people pay the price.
This is true in all countries. We are not the only country that has allowed horribly corrupt government. Even Nazi Germany was "elected."

If we are to blame ourselves for Bush/Cheney then we need to compliment ourselves on getting the Republicans out of Congress.
I guess my point is that Americans are no worse or better than anyone else.

You all are a bunch of terrorist sympathizing conspiracy nuts.

[EDIT]

Sorry, I meant to say:

You all are a bunch of VEGETARIAN terrorist sympathizing conspiracy nuts.

This is a great clip. The question is: what made Cheney change his mind? Or was that just political posturing, like what Kristol, Perle, et al. are doing now regarding the present Iraq war?

Either way, it shows Cheney truly does not have a conscience. And that has some big implications for the US, and the world. I've tried to spell some of them out on my website at http://ponerology.com

A *very* good question.

I think he never did change his mind. It came down to the war was good for his business interests.

They don't call him "Dick" for nothing. What a genocidal asshole.

Sometimes, when I see this kind of bull, I feel like getting drunk and inviting "The Dick" quail-hunting on my farm in Texas.

Wow.

Well, politicians and public figures in general do have a long history of saying one thing and, five to fifteen years later, doing the exact opposite.

This is the first time I'm seeing someone say one thing ... and then do exactly that.

No, actually he said a series of things we shouldn't have done or do back in 1994, and that is contrasted with he and Bush doing the opposite of what he said should and should not be done since 2003.

Cheney and the bushites are mother fuckers. The mother they are raping is America, for spite, neocon perversity, short term personal economic gain, and getting their sick ya ya's out.

Bush, Cheney, et al, should be imprisoned for crimes against humanity and genocide for their natural lifetimes.
