I'm looking forward to the new "Indiana Jones" movie, in part because -- ready for this? -- it involves the Roswell crash. If you don't believe me, watch the trailer below.

Ok, you had me at "Roswell."
Time to diet for the requisite popcorn carb-loading.
Thanks for the heads-up!

Ah, yes--the "Roswell New Mexico" reference stenciled on the box at 1:26 in the clip.

Sure wish Spielberg would make a more serious movie about the ufo phenomena, but then it might not draw the demographic mass appeal movies require for profit these days.

I didn't actually watch it, but didn't Spielberg create/produce/whatever the UFO/abduction mini-series, Taken?

Yes, he did, and it was quite well done, if you like your science fiction blended with alleged historical factoids. It won the Emmy in 2003 for best mini-series.

I believe it also was the SciFi channel's highest rated mini-series. However, ever since the SciFi channel was sold to General Electric/NBC Universal a few years ago, the quality of the channel's offerings have declined, and their interest in promoting/funding ufo-related ventures, like Leslie Kean's Kecksberg investigations, have been dropped since around 2004 or so.

The SciFi channel now funds $1 to $2 million low-quality B-movies for weekend showing and things like the WWF's ECW weekly extreme wrestling shows, which is, oddly enough, the channel's highest rated show.

The new "UFO Hunters" show, a pilot, is a spinoff of the "Ghost Hunters" genre, and probably won't last, as it's not a very good "reality TV" show, and had low ratings when it went up against the History Channel's eponymous "UFO Hunters," both of which are currently scheduled for broadcast on the same day and time, which is really dumb programming for both channels.
