io9 covers the Argentinian UFO flap. The pictures look overwhelmingly bogus to me; then again, what makes me think I'd know a real flying saucer if I saw it?

Crap! I can't remember where I saw it Mac but that first shot was confirmed to be an inflatable party favor of the UFO kind.

What the hell is with Argentina and hoaxer anyway? They sure do love the UFO game down there.

A load of "hot air" just like the contents of the balloons! (Or helium, whatever...)

Here's a confession. In my younger days, I once went so far as to design a workable, radio-controlled UFO model with the express intent of scaring the shit out of the local natives. I didn't actually build it but it wouldn't have been all that difficult to do, I don't think. But I derived hours of pleasure imagine the havoc that seeing the thing would cause if I ever DID build it. And I am sure there are plenty of people out there with just as good a design imagination as I have plus more motivation and incentive....

Denny, I helped circulate the news that the first one was a fake back in May 2007.

I contacted UFO Digest and they did a quick follow-up acknowledging that is was 100% and, because it is so rare to prove the fakery definitively and have everyone agree, I'd hoped that would be the last we'd hear of that one - clearly not.
